Sunday Afternoon

This is what I do Sunday afternoon...
Study for for the week of teaching, no wonder people normally go to school and get a credential to teach...
Just Kidding
I have quite the stack now because Emily is now in Kindergarten, it's not hard, I just like to know what I am going to teach for the next week.
Today is was 72 degrees outside, which feels cold compared to 124 degrees. I made banana bread today, and sat down with a nice cup of coffee and hot banana bread, I am thankful for the weather God has given us today.

A New Student

This week Emily started Kindergarten. She was so excited she could hardly wait. We told her that when she turned 4 she could start school, so here we are starting school. I now officially have 2 students in my little classroom at the kitchen table. Were going to put those letters we have been learning into action!

Celebrations

Just the other day, we went out to pizza to celebrate the Farran's being here one year, I am holding up pizza with banana on it, I wouldn't recommend it.


On March 4th was Emily's 4th Birthday, we had a fun day of cake and presents and more cake. People were stopping by all day to drop off her presents. We are going to start her on some Kindergarten material pretty soon here.

Worship Team Practice

Worship practice for Sunday mornings is every Tuesday evening at 6:30. We have gotten up to 5 ladies singing, and 2 guitarists and sometimes the keyboard which makes for a nice full sound on Sunday morning. I have come to really love helping out on the worship team, we have a lot of fun, and I usually have to learn at least one new song every week.




From left to right here we have Jacky, Heather, Taneal, Vicky, and me. Heather is teaching us how to expand our vocal range... this exercise is called "sirens", I'm sure you could only guess what we are doing.

Pursuing God's Kingdom

Today has been a bit of a difficult day. I went to Amangwe Village. It started off a great morning, and then we got a call. Nqombille a five year old little girl that attended the creche died last night. You know how you just get attached to some kids? Well, that was Nqombi to me. As tears rolled down my face, I thought of her precious developing character and personality, I thought of her short life, and the fact that she most likely didn't know Christ as her personal Savior. Today I am reminded of how short life is compared to eternity, and the importance of that perspective in every day life. If you knew someone was living their last day, would you tell them about Christ? And just think, if you wanted to, but you couldn't because you didn't know their language. If I wanted to tell Nqombi about Christ I couldn't because I don't know her language. So I want to remind you, don't just live for the moment, but focus on pursuing God's kingdom.
